Enhanced-Biological Activated Carbon Filter ProcessE-BAC(E-BAC)
E-BAC Characteristics
E-BAC(Enhanced-Biological Activated Carbon)system is an innovative biological wastewater treatment technology based on adsorption, biological degradation and online recovery, and re-adsorption process. It effectively removes hard-to-treat COD, ammonia nitrogen or total nitrogen without causing secondary pollution. This modified fixed bed system combining physical adsorption onto activated carbon and biodegradation through biofilms can be applied to a wide range of biological wastewater treatment applications. Some advantages are listed below:
- High salinity tolerance up to 30,000 mg/L
- No periodic replacement for carbon media and microorganisms with less than 5% annual material loss
- Energy saving and low operating cost less than 0.2 CNY/m3 compare to Fenton, Ozonation and other processes
- Compact footprint suitable for above or below ground installation
- Low sludge production and no chemicals required during operation prevents formation of large amounts ferrous iron sludge compare to Fenton
- Easy and safe to maintain and operate compare to ozonation treatment causing potential fire hazards and toxicity issues associated with ozone generation.
- Rapid startup
E-BAC system is a proven solution to treat industrial wastewater in different applications including textile dyeing and printing, pharmaceutics, coal chemical, petrochemical, etc.
